Article about my country

I chose the article 'Living on Borodin time' because I am interested in Russian classical music. Borodin Quartet is the best-known Russian quartet in the west. Quartet is a method of instrumentation, used to perform a musical composition, and consisting of four parts. Valentin Berlinsky (cello) is the last founder member of quartet. He has retired but he remains the group's mentor. The quartet involve pupils faking over from teachers. Nadin, joined in spring 1996; first violinist Ruben Aharonian joined in December that same year. The longest-serving member now is second violinist Andrei Abramencov joined in 1974 (he is current player remaining from the Soviet era).
The Borodins first toured abroad in 1955, at which time the perception of Soviet music and musicians was limited. Politics hadn't influenced musical life, from Stalin's time through Soviet times to the modern day. Before the fall of communism, Russian musicants performed mostly in Russia. But now they play more frequently abroad than at home. They perform in Paris, Liverpool, Birmingham.
Now Russian music as interpreted by Russians is everywhere. The idea of belonging kept the Borodin Quartet into its seventh decade. Nowadays the Russian music, especially Shostakovich, is the quartet's signature repertoire.
